URGENT MESSAGE FROM YOUR LOCAL HOSPITAL

Harrogate District Hospital is experiencing unprecedented high levels of admissions and would ask members of the public to only use the A&E Department if emergency medical attention is needed. We would always encourage the public to consider using other services that are available to ensure that patients with emergency conditions can be seen as soon as possible.

For patients with non-emergency symptoms please visit your community Pharmacist for advice or look online for advice at https://www.nhs.uk/pages/home.aspx

If you feel you need medical attention but are unsure where to turn, please contact NHS 111. If you feel that you do need to see a clinician, please consider ringing your GP practice to book an appointment with them or request an appointment at the extended hours Primary Care Hubs in Harrogate (and Ripon if you are a Ripon patient) which are open on Saturday morning. NHS 111 is still available when the practice is closed if you feel you need out of hours non-emergency medical help and advice.

Appointments

Waiting roomAll consultations are by appointment and can be booked in person, over the telephone or online. You may consult any of the doctors in the practice and we will always try to accommodate you with the doctor of your choice.

Urgent cases will always be fitted in the same day.  Both the surgeries are open from 08:00 - 18:00 Monday - Friday. We run an early morning clinic every Friday morning at Eastgate and a Saturday morning clinic once a month at the Health Centre.

The time allocated for a routine appointment is 10 minutes. If you feel you may need longer please indicate this to the receptionist at the time of booking.

We are also able to offer telephone slots for things that do not require being seen in surgery i.e medication queries.

Please check in with reception staff on your arrival at the surgery.  We will advise you if there is a delay in your appointment time.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.  Unfortunately due to the differant specialities of our practice nurses and differant appointment lengths we are unable to offer online booking of practice nurse appointments.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. Please note if you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment you will be asked to re-book.
