Harrogate District Hospital is experiencing unprecedented high levels of admissions and would ask members of the public to only use the A&E Department if emergency medical attention is needed. We would always encourage the public to consider using other services that are available to ensure that patients with emergency conditions can be seen as soon as possible.

For patients with non-emergency symptoms please visit your community Pharmacist for advice or look online for advice at

If you feel you need medical attention but are unsure where to turn, please contact NHS 111. If you feel that you do need to see a clinician, please consider ringing your GP practice to book an appointment with them or request an appointment at the extended hours Primary Care Hubs in Harrogate (and Ripon if you are a Ripon patient) which are open on Saturday morning. NHS 111 is still available when the practice is closed if you feel you need out of hours non-emergency medical help and advice.

Do It Online

Age of Access for Online Services:

The practice offers "no online services" to patients aged between 11 and 16 years. NHS England recommends that practices adopt a very cautious approach to allowing parents access to their child's medical record once the child reaches the age of 11, especially in light of the extended access to medical records in 2015.

Children vary in the age at which they are able to make an independent and informed decision about who should have access to their record. Eastgate Medical Group has decided to adopt the most practical approach and withdraw parents' access as soon as the child reaches 11, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

The practice understands that, in some extreme circumstances, access to a child's record may be required. If you think this applies to your child, please contact the surgery in writing with the details.
